Child Labour Free Jaipur (CLFJ)
Child Labour Free Jaipur is tackling two types of child labour: Local children who drop out of school and work at home, and children trafficked from other states, to work in workshops. They are engaged in making bangles and embellished textiles. With unprecedented commitment from the Rajasthan state and district-level governments to end child labour, CLFJ is using comprehensive interventions to achieve major changes. Jaipur is showing that a sustainable strategy that targets the root causes of child labour is an effective model for other cities to replicate.
Together with leading government agencies, businesses, civil society organizations, local communities, funding agencies, and child rights experts, CLFJ is a multi-stakeholder partnership that is creating lasting change in all the systems that protect children.
